Girls just wanna have FUN!

Yesterday I felt a bit fragile because of the hectic weekend, but it was all in good fun. Girls really just want to have fun. And loads of it too! Here are some pics of the hectic party chaos drunken night innocent fun we had weekend. Enjoy!
Just warming up!

Trying hard to concentrate on the rules of the drinking game

My fellow-fabulous-females!

Dra-ma-tic!

That night we told everyone we're twins. Some people are just so gullible :)

Single and ready to mingle!

Oh, what's going on here?

Dancin' like nobody's watchin'

I can't tell if this is beat or sparks...

Fun times!

I think the music's to blame

Having a serious moment here...
We've got another serious 4-day girls weekend coming up! Darlings, do yourself a favour and just pack the car and go on a road trip. A trip to nowhere. Turn the music up and sing along to the top of your lungs. Listen to Miley Cyrus. Record video clips of your singing. Leave the GHD's at home and pack in drinking games. Explore all the pubs. Try new shooters or cocktails. Make new friends and exchange numbers. Go without sleep and eat junk food. Forget about what your mama told you and rather embrace what your mama gave you. But most importantly, take loads of photos! It's such fun and a genuine bonding experience!

Motivation for Monday

I've had a wonderful weekend with very little sleep, so I almost didn't do a post for a lil' motivation for Monday. This weekend I discovered, yet again, how important it is to have fun, for girls to go on road trips, to surround yourself with wonderful people, to let your hair down and to laugh! These are the ingredients to positive thinking and a positive attitude. I recommend it!

“Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”

Just like my temper today, I'm keeping this post short (but the party was totally worth it)!

Happy Monday everyone!

PS - I will definitely share the pictures, so please come back real soon!

My Vintage Photo Shoot!

A while ago I won a photo shoot, yes won, but I was really hesitant at going because I'm not a schmodel. But the photographer convinced me in doing a themed photo shoot, so we decided to do a 1950's vintage shoot. I love playing dress-up and getting into character, so that was total fun! I finally got the pics and, even though I'm not totally impressed with the results, I still think the pictures came out nice. Yes, just nice and worth sharing.

So in love with this dress!
This is one of my favourite shots!
This suitcase belonged to my grandmother, so, it's another genuine vintage piece.

These were shot in a Nature Reserve on a Winter's day!
This dress is also a genuine vintage dress, a vintage wedding dress to be precise!

In happier days!

It's Friday and I...

... am going to Ceres for the weekend.
... am driving around in my new Yaris and I am just so in love with it!
... am still on the hunt for a great hairdresser in my area. Any suggestions?
... have two pairs of sunnies, from House of JD, on the way. One for me and one for a giveaway on my blog, coming soooooon!
... have sent my entry for the 'Write for Bronx' blogger-search competition. Hold thumbs for me please!
... think this week flew by! It feels like a missed two days, somewhere, somehow.
... really think we, or someone who's got loads of time on their hands, should arrange a 'bloggers party', where all the local bloggers can meet up. Wouldn't that be cool!
... sometimes wish I had someone to wine and dine me.
... am so hooked on vintage-anything, flower accessories and tan coloured shoes!
... bought the hottest shoes last night, speaking of which!
... am going to post pictures of a 1950's-inspired photo shoot I went for, so watch this space!

Have a fabulous weekend, darlings! Now someone, go on and arrange a lil' get-together for all the bloggers!

Things I can't say NO to... #008

No matter what the occasion, or even with no occasion at all, champagne is the drink of choice. Always. I simply cannot say no. I am so captivated by the sweet (or sometimes dry) taste of bubbly and I just feel so classy when I have a flute in my hand. When I hear the cork popping and the ting-ting sounds as we 'cheers', I know good times will follow. My favourite champagne, though it's not real champagne and actually called MCC (Méthode Cap Classique), is JC le Roux! If you haven't visited House of JC le Roux in Stellenbosch yet, do yourself a favour and go! Nice scenery, champagne tasting, great food, freebies, need I say more?

But any champagne is good, be it French or just sparkling wine. It cheers me up and makes me feel as if it's my birthday! I had a bottle last night, but another ice cold one with a floating strawberry, would go down really well. Anyone?

I'm young, single and I LOVE to mingle!

As I'm approaching the end of Stage 2, I'm starting to get over the whole break-up and heart-break and decided it was time I go out and let my hair down. Which is exactly what I did this last couple of days.

Allow me to share some party pics with you. Some sober. Some completely, er, not.

Pouting. Blame it on the a-a-alcohol.
Girls' nights really cheer me up!
More girls. More pouting. Hey, is that some gay-action in the background?
Pictured here with an old school friend of mine, Johlene.

Hanging out with my sister

The little black dress - essential in every girl's cupboard!

Me with my sister again.

Who knew that girls could have so much fun in the bathroom...

Here with two of my best friends, Esme (left) & Kellly (middle)
I have come to the conclusion that partying is great therapy, so I shall go for this therapy from now on. Regularly. If you've just come out of a relationship and are really struggling to deal with it all, get your ass out of the house and go out. Party, dance, dress-up, catch-up and mingle. It worked for me.

Why I should write for Bronx Ladies!

Y'all know my obsession with blogging and my obsession (which is an understatement) with shoes! So when I saw that Bronx Ladies SA is doing a bloggers search where you can win a whole year's supply of shoes, I nearly fainted! I mean, how can I just let that opportunity pass me by? Hell no!
Earlier this month Cape Town Girl announced on her blog that Bronx is searching for a "gorgeous, sexy girl-about-town who leads a fun, fashion-and-party-filled lifestyle, who would write about everything from what’s hot on the catwalks to what’s hot in their wardrobes right now".

And, if you think you're a cool chick-blogger who can totally pull this off, then go ahead and enter here. You can write about any topic of up to 300 words! Just think of that prize - shoes for a whole effing year! So darlings, allow me to attempt an entry and tell convince Bronx Ladies SA that I should write for them...

I love blogging, because it's an escape. Here I can tell you what's on my mind, I can express, I can be silly, I can be funny, I can be random and I can just let it all out. Here I get to be myself. I love writing, especially blogging, because there are no rules. Not in my blog, anyway.

I show girls that I'm just like them. I am hooked on competitions and freebies. I share the things I can’t say no to, that most people won’t even admit to! I come across fabulous finds, be it expensive Jimmy Choos or self-help books. I even introduce my readers to new things, like NoMU Foods or great photographers. I hate going to gym and while others blog about fitness advice, I tell you the unwritten rules of a gym. I blog about my personal life, my animals and my great friends. I'm not afraid to speak my mind and tell people to boycott L'Oreal because of their animal testing. I embrace my inner-prophet and make up quotes or inspirational lists. I show my motherly side and tell girls about the stages of a break-up or things that every girl should invest in. I have a glamorous side too and go for photo shoots and attend great events where I rub shoulders with celebs. Or I would just make up an excuse to party and have loads of champagne!

I think I should write for Bronx because I'm a normal girl and I talk like a normal, straight-forward, shoe-addict, fashion-loving, fun City girl. I don't use big words that would require my readers to first use Thesaurus. Because seriously, who talks like that? But when I do talk, people listen. I grab attention because I talk sense and people can relate. That's why I should write for YOU Bronx.

... need to start living in, but not restricted to, a budget from now on.
... am going out tonight to celebrate my lil' achievement called 'taking-back-my-independence'.
... am still adjusting to single life, but I'm starting to enjoy my life again!

... am not going to be very productive today. I just don't feel like it.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a fabulous weekend and (don't) be good!

Coveted Couture - Sexy Swimwear!

I usually play it safe with a bikini that serves a dual purpose of both tanning and swimming, but this summer I'm definitely getting my hands on, either, a sexy one-piece or something sailor-inspired! Just look at these pics I discovered on the web. It takes swimwear, and even the once-considered-boring-and-conservative one-piece, to a whole other level. A sexy, fashionable and daring level.

I am SO in love with anything sailor-like!
I just love how this bikini almost borders on the lingerie-line.
Bad for tanning. Great for grabbing attention!
How sexy is this purple one? Absolute must-have for me!

This is just uber sexy!

Grey, another colour that's so big right now.
What do you think ladies? It sure gets my juicy stamp of approval. Actually, it just put me in the mood for swimwear shopping. Ah, Summer, I can't wait for you...

More unwritten rules of a gym!

Previously I enlightened you on the top 5 rules of a gym - forgotten already, then let me refresh your memory - but it has come to my attention that there are more unwritten, yet very important, rules!

1. Don't you just hate it when you are there to actually gym and get a proper work-out when some lazy ass, or those imonlyheretolookpretty type, person comes and talks shit to you? Honestly, who cares? Don't interrupt us with your nonsense, unless it is of vital importance, like a bomb-threat. Otherwise, no chit-chat. Please.

2. Rack your weights, dumbass. S'all I have to say.

3. Ok, so this rule isn't unwritten, yet people don't abide by it. So, allow me to tell you how gross it is when you don't wipe your gym equipment when you're done. There is just nothing like the smell, and sight, of human bodily fluid to get my gag-reflexes working.

4. We don't just all stand in an orderly line for our own pleasure. Wait in line for the treadmills bitches. In general, queue skipping is just plain rude.

5. Relaxing in the sauna, after a long day and hard work-out, is really just so, well, erm, relaxing. It's especially nice if the temperature is not too hot, as in, not being able to breathe! Until some selfish person comes along and pours water all over the charcoal, which sends the temperature through the roof and sends me out of there! The idea is to sweat, not to dehydrate. The rule here is something yo mama taught you years ago: always ask before doing something. Politeness is what it's all about.

Ok, let's see how long before I've discovered more unwritten rules. But for that, I guess, I actually have to go to gym again.

Motivation for Monday!

It's Monday again and, with a five-day week ahead, it seems that we need more than just a little motivation. It's that time of the year where the last holiday break seems ages ago and the next one, ages light years away!

Here's an inspirational quote to get you through the day and, perhaps, even through the week!

"Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action". I love this quote and piece of advice. Remember, you determine your own happiness, so take control and take action.

Happy Monday my lovely readers.

Things I can't say NO to... #007

I was at a shopping centre last night and, while waiting for a friend, I just got totally lost in my own little world. A world where I can't say no to staring at people. Yes, staring is rude, but I just find it so therapeutic and fascinating...

... to watch how girls struggle to walk in high heels.
... then wonder why anyone would wear high heels when they go shopping?
... to guess what's in their shopping bags!
... to listen in on their conversations. Sometimes people sure talk a lot of shit.
... looking at what they are wearing. Last night I saw a guy wearing a green sweatpants, a green top and cream crocks! I'd rather wear a slanket before I wear crocks!

So yes, I stare at the weirdoes in shopping centres, but I can't help it. Some people are just really entertaining, without even trying to be.

It's Friday and I...

... totally love this cute photo!
... am not superstitious, but today is Friday the 13th. Ooooh!
... hope it's going to be a sunny weekend. I am SO over this winter.
... love unexpected gifts!
... really want to attend another glamorous, celeb-filled, event! Anybody?
... have completely forgotten about my Tax Return. Today is the day to submit it. Must.
... don't remember the last time I had scrambled eggs buried under a mountain of Aromat.
... really miss a special person today. *sad face*
... have found my perfect car. My dream is now in the hands of the bank to finance it.
... am going to meet up with friends this weekend whom I haven't seen in a loooong time! I love doing girly shit like coffee-dates.
... need some retail therapy. No, really need!

Happy Friday everyone! How are you feeling today?
